November is here and that means that holiday season is just around the corner, YAY!
Every month, I jot down some ideas or things I would like to accomplish over the course of the month in my agenda. I find that having a place to write down these aspirations, big or small, really helps, plus it’s quite nice to refer to once a task has been completed or if I am struggling a bit with something on the list. I thought it would be fun to share these goals with you, and then at the end of the month, I’ll write a check-in post of sorts to update you on how things worked out.
For the month of November, I’ve kept my goals fairly simple:
Drink more H20!
OH MY, if I only drank water like I drink Starbucks coffee! I have been noticing that my skin has been super parched lately, but what’s worse is that it seems fine at 7 AM but by noon it is begging for some extra hydration. Yes, weather plays a role here (it is that time of year), but I think a lot of it comes from my love for coffee and my apparent disdain for any other liquids. I’m going to try to drink, at the very least, 7 – 8 glasses of water a day, and if I’m feeling a bit chilly, instead of reaching for a nonfat, no whip, extra hot Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha, I’m going to sip on some tea. I’m curious to see if/how soon I’ll notice a difference. My primary concern is, yes, a superficial one, but I also know that when I’m drinking more water, everything in my body just works a little better. So, bring on the refills!
Get organized for the holidays
I have this vivid memory of dashing around the mall right before it closed on December 23, and I can’t even tell you how little joy it gave me… -.-. Embarrassingly enough, the memory is not vivid because of how traumatic the whole thing was (though it was, trust me), but because it was, erhm, last year. I vow to never, ever put myself in that stressful position again, so this year, I’m making a list, checking it twice, and having all of my cards written & gifts wrapped by December 13. Better get writin’!
Pick up old hobbies
As some of you may know, I got a new job in July. I’m extremely grateful to be working at a company that I thoroughly enjoy working at, with a mission that I actually believe in, doing work I have always wanted to do. Our busy season started in August and basically finished last week, ha. I have been living, breathing and eating all things work for a while now, but I think it’s time to bring back a little work-life balance. I want to take some classes, start cooking and baking again (one of my faves!) and just enjoy the start of this magical season with my friends and family.
What are some of your goals for November?
xx,
