Our Christmas Tree

I’ve been meaning to write this post since I put our tree up in early November, but gosh darn it I haven’t had a chance to take any photos of it! Anyways, I finally got a chance to snap some this weekend so…here we gooooo! #ChristmasIsHURRRRRRR

The Whole Tree

If you’ve followed me for a while on social media or on my previous blog, you’ll know that my mom and I get really excited to put up the tree every year. Since I was a little girl, my mom has always chosen the prettiest colour schemes and ornaments to deck the tree and halls with. The tradition has continued, as we change the colours on the tree yearly and deciding on the colours of the year is serious business. We’ve had everything from classic colours like ivory and gold to funky colours like bright blue, purple or pink. Whichever colours we choose, we have tons of fun picking out ornaments new and old and putting them up on our family tree.

This year, my mom handed the reins over to me.  It was both a very stressful idea to know that I’d have to continue on her decorating legacy (she’s seriously so talented, no bias whatsoever) and fun to have it all in my own control. I was very excited for Christmas at a very early stage this year (like, end of October I started playing my festive playlists in Spotify), so I opted for a classic theme over a unique theme this year, and went with red and gold on the tree. Have a flip through the photos below to see how it turned out; I don’t think I did too bad if I do say so myself!

My favourite ornament EVER is the two doves kissing near the bottom of this photo. Every year, they’re front and centre, they’re just too pretty!

So….what do ya think!? I love the way the red and gold sparkles on a sunny day. What holiday decor did you put up in your home this year, if any? Are you more of an extravagant gal with tons of glitter and large ornaments, or do you prefer a more minimalistic, simple and almost bare tree approach? Let me know in the comments below!

Interested to see what festive touches I’ve added to my bedroom!? Check out my latest post on Instagram! 🙂 Hint: there’s lots of white but it makes me VERY jolly!  @itssiobhanchloe, go, go, go!

Lots of love,
